Mary J. Leen is a contemporary stained glass artist and public art creator. Working on public and private commissions plus private work for exhibitions. To date she has successfully created 9 percent for art schemes in schools and has worked extensively for Kerry County Council on various art projects around the county. She featured on RTE’s Nationwide program twice, She has been on several radio stations discussing her work including Cork’s 96fm, West Limerick 102 and Radio Kerry. Mary J. also worked on a significant job with Jameson Whiskey. She received Kerry business woman of the year two years running and received both regional and national media coverage with her art work on numerous occasions. Including being published in the Gathering book of notable Irish artist of our time. Mary’s work is multi-dimensional which she attributes to her training and education as well as her travel and life experience. Gaining a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from Crawford College of Art and Design, Cork. Over the years she had the good fortune to study painting with the internationally renowned painter Carl N. Batternay and she did an apprenticeship in stained glass in the famous stained glass studio “Vetrate Artistiche Toscane” in Siena Italy, under the artist Alberto Positiano.The StudioHer public work can be seen in places such as:
